Craft refers to an activity that involves skill in terms of making things with the use of hands or simple tools. Craft-making is a pastime or a profession. If in this case you consider craft as a pastime, here are some places or workshops that you can enrol at:


Build-A-Bear Workshop

The studio is located in Plaza Singapura. They offer workshops that help you create your own bear. You will surely enjoy the process. Aside from bears, you will also learn how to make other stuffed animals. If you are planning to give it as a gift, you can choose to include an audio recording. The shop will provide the stuffing (@ their Stuff Me station), the heart of the bear which is the shop’s trademark and finish it with stitches (through their original pre-laced system). The School of Hard Knocks

The School of Hard Knocks is located in River Valley Road. The school is under Royal Selangor which is considered as the largest pewter company in the world. You can learn the basics of pewter-smithing for half an hour. With this workshop, you will learn how to make your own pewter dish. You only need to pay S$30 per person.

There are other schools that you can consider offering simple skills like scraping, stitching, polishing and many more. These simple skills are very useful when the need arises. If you want you can bring your kids with you. At an early age, they will be skilled or trained. That is a good thing.

If you are passionate about a specific craft, you can consider it as a profession. You can make money from it. Aside from enjoying, you are making money too. That is a great bargain.
